When I wake up, I think of the war
I think of the screams, I think of the horror
When I get up, I think of the war
Is that a booby trap? No, just a toy on the floor
When I go to the bathroom, I think of the war
Is that incoming? No, get off the floor
When I go for a walk, I think of the war
Are them rice paddies? No, not on this shore
When I go outside, I think of the war

When I smoke a cigarette, I think of the war

When I go to a cemetery, I think of the war

When I go deer hunting, I think of the war

When I'm in my basement, I think of the war
A better bunker than I had before
When I take my medication, I think of the war
Shall I try suicide and forget this horror?
When I see the flag, I think of the war
So many brave men from shore to shore
When I go to bed, I think of the war
Am I on hole watch? No, not anymore
When I talk to my doctor, I think of the war
When will I be like I was before?
When I...................
